Ma Doo Bua Cafe is an incredible cafe that has become famous due to the incredible pictures you can capture of their beautiful on-site lilypad pond. Situated quite far north from the regular tourist spots like Patong, Karon, and Rawaii beaches to the south, the wonderful images we captured made the trip well worth it. The fantastic scenery is complemented by a rather extensive food and drink menu with plenty of options for various pallets. From the presentation and quality of the food to the breathtaking lilypad pond, the unique imagery will likely appeal to many travelers and locals alike.
Ma Doo Bua Phuket is a relatively new cafe and restaurant which has captured the hearts of selfie-loving social media enthusiasts with their irresistible background and relaxed atmosphere. If it isn’t obvious to you already, the entire operation owes its popularity primarily to the giant circular Amazonica lilypad leaves. These being the largest in the species can allegedly hold up to 50kg, but I dared not to try as I’m nearly double that in weight. However, I would love to see some smaller girl or kids try it.
The restaurant itself isn’t anything fantastic, but the point is that you can lay on their rows of pillows and relax while taking in the breathtaking views. The small lake or pond has traditional Lanna-style wooden houses lining the lake and really help complete the picturesque scenery. With these striking backgrounds, this is the perfect place to bring your loved ones or even come to for a date. Selfie models typically take turns taking pics while the rest of the restaurant watches the amateur photoshoots from the comfort of the seats in the shade.
Ma Doo Bua Drone Selfie Prices
If you want to take a couple of unique and unforgettable photos of yourselves, Ma Doo Bua offers two photo options that you can’t do by yourselves. If you own a drone like me, understand that they will not let you fly your own drone and have instead created a racket by forcing patrons to pay them for a drone shot. The prices are rather expensive, but for the majority of people who don’t personally own a drone or incredible lilypad pond, there are likely plenty of people who will pay for it. You can have drone photo of you lying down in a wooden Thai boat like you can see below and also standing in the middle of one of the floating leaves too if you’re light enough.
- 500 baht for one person
- 800 for 2 people
- 1,000 baht for 3 people
- 1,200 baht for four people
Also, it costs 350 baht to stand on one of the leaves.

ทางคาเฟ่มีบริการถ่ายภาพในมุมสูงด้วยโดรน โดยสามารถบรรทุกได้ไม่เกิน 5 คน ( น้ำหนักรวมไม่เกิน 350 กิโลกรัม ) อันนี้กวิ้นลองมาแล้ว รูปสวยงามมาก เรือเป็นเรือ mock up จะอยู่นิ่ง ๆ ไม่ขยับไปไหนจ้า โดยการถ่ายภาพของโดรนในแต่ละครั้งทางลูกค้าจะได้ภาพ 1 ชุด (4 ภาพ) โดยมีค่าใช้จ่ายสำหรับการถ่ายภาพแบ่งเป็น
- ลูกค้า 1 ท่าน Single ราคา 500.- บาท
- ลูกค้า 2 ท่าน Double ราคา 800.- บาท
- ลูกค้า 3 ท่าน Triple ราคา 1,000.- บาท
- ลูกค้า 4-5 ท่านFamily ราคา 1,200.- บาท
ส่วนกิจกรรมอีกอย่างตอนกวิ้นไปยังไม่ได้ทำคือการลงไปยืนถ่ายรูปบนใบบัว! กิจกรรมนี้สามารถทำได้ทีละ 1 คน โดยจะต้องมีน้ำหนักตัวไม่เกิน 65 กิโลกรัม จ้า อันนี้มีค่าใช้จ่าย 350 บาทต่อครั้งค่ะ
ทั้งสองกิจกรรมเปิดให้ทำทุกวันเสาร์ – อาทิตย์ เวลา 13.00-17.00 น. เท่านั้นน๊าาาาา ควรโทรไปสอบถามล่วงหน้าก่อนจะดีที่สุดค่ะ
Moo Da Bua Cafe
Ma Doo Bua gets pretty busy on the weekends, especially on Sunday afternoons being their regularly busiest day of the week. Fortunately, we came on a weekday around 2pm and were luckily able to get a good seat near the front of the patio and pier. The rest of the restaurant around the pond was pretty much packed though so if you plan on coming either arrive early or be willing to wait a little bit. This place really is a great concept and provides a unique romantic tropical photoshoot for you and your friends to post on your Instagram account. Just try to come on weekdays and remember, it’s quite far from Patong and Kata beaches
Ma Doo Bua Menu
The relaxed cafe atmosphere has both indoor and outdoor eating areas for you to enjoy their long list of coffees, herbal and fruit teas, as well as various food options ranging from sandwiches and pasta as well as traditional Thai foods and desserts. The actual name Ma Doo Bua translated from Thai to English means “to look or see lotus” and people certainly do come to see the lovely lotus lilypad pond.
